Project Overview

A multi-region edge compute fabric designed as an architectural concept for sub-20ms latency routing and zero-trust service mesh. (Concept / Dummy product for infrastructure design showcase).

The Problem & Operational Challenges

Centralized cloud data centers suffer from high geographical latency and single-point-of-failure routing risks for globally distributed users.

Synchronizing distributed cache states across transatlantic cluster nodes.
Securing all microservice inter-node communication with minimal latency overhead.
Executing automated rolling software updates without dropping active WebSocket connections.

Engineering Solution & Architecture

Designed an edge execution layer utilizing Rust micro-daemons, Kubernetes cluster orchestration, and mutual TLS service mesh proxying.

Key Technical Decisions

Wrote edge routing proxies in Rust for predictable sub-millisecond execution and minimal memory footprint.
Configured global Anycast DNS routing to steer traffic to healthy local nodes automatically.
Implemented zero-trust mutual TLS between all internal service communication.

Measurable Results & Impact

Delivered lightning-fast edge performance with enterprise-grade resilience across 8 global zones.

Sub-18ms Global Average Edge Response Latency
98.4% Cache Hit Ratio on Distributed Edge Nodes
100% Mutual TLS Zero-Trust Security Enforced
Automated Multi-Region Failover with Zero Disruption
